“The Archaeology of German Colonial Heritages in Ghana: Repackaging Shared Relicts of Strategic Ghana-German Partnership in Development.”

The VW-Foundation granted a funding in the program „Knowledge for Tomorrow-Cooperative Research Projects in Sub-Saharan Africa“ for a research project in the Volta Region (Ghana) for a period of three years time in 2013.

The archaeologist and cultural anthropologist Dr. Apoh (University of Ghana Legon) excavates – in cooperation with Dr. Kodzo Gavua (also Legon) – German colonial buildings in the Volta Region in Ghana for years now.

This project is a cooperation between the Free University of Berlin, represented by Prof. Sebastian Conrad, Dr. Mariatheresia Starzmann and the Europe-University of Flensburg, represented by Prof. Dr. Bea Lundt.
